Seddon progresses vision for 420 Crewe homes
Located off Sydney Road east of the town centre, the roughly 60-acre scheme would meet a need for homes in the local area.
Seddon Homes has submitted one application and is preparing a second for a total of 420 homes.
The first application, lodged in outline, requests consent for 320 one- to five-bed homes on 46 acres between the A534 and Sydney Road and south of Bradeley Hall Road.
The development would provide a variety of different types and tenures; some 30% of the properties would be affordable. Around 26 acres of the site would be retained as public open space.
The second application, which has not yet been submitted, requests full permission for 100 homes on a neighbouring site.

WSP is advising on planning matters and Woodcroft Design is the architect.
The application has been prepared in response to the “ongoing housing crisis in Cheshire East and the need to provide high-quality, low-carbon housing in sustainable locations”, according to WSP’s planning statement.
At present, the council can only demonstrate a 3.8-year housing land supply position, leaving its 1.2 years short of the statutory target.
