Second phase of Salford’s Broughton House revamp unveiled

Broughton Park Homes and Broughton House Veteran Care Village’s plans for the site off Park Lane would create 36 senior living apartments.

This would mark the second and final phase in the developers’ ambitions to deliver 106 homes to the site of the former 19th century mansion, Broughton House.

Phase one saw the demolition of the original mansion to construct a new care home, which will provide nursing and accommodation for up to 94 ex-service men and women.

Architect Howard and Seddon Partnership designed the second phase of the project, which would deliver a three- to four-storey residential block featuring one- and two-bedroom flats.

Apartments would range from 500 sq ft to 800 sq ft.

Residents would be provided with 23 car parking spaces, including three disabled, as well as 42 cycle spaces.

Singleton Clamp is the transport consultant for the scheme. DAA Group is consulting on noise and the University of Salford is providing the heritage assessment for the site.

Original proposals for the veteran’s care home and separate apartment block with 34 flats were approved in 2017. These apartment block plans have been updated to form a separate application and provide an extra two flats.

Phase 1A of the Broughton House redevelopment completed in September 2020 to provide 32 bedrooms for veterans. Phase 1B is currently under construction to deliver a further 32 bedrooms and six independent living apartments.

Ambitious plans to landscape into a desert too going off the image, reminds me of Quantum of Solace.

This will totally over build in the plot
Create far more congestion on a small remaining plot the first phase already , damaged the roads buildings in the area . The school next door , traffic , and congestion is extremely heavy for an area that is surrounded by flat building on upper park road , old hall road , cavendish road to name 3 taking place at present .
The present Broughton house has not created enough parking and all employees and visitors park on the surrounding small roads at present this will increase the issue further .
