Rural office scheme approved for Rok at Wilmslow
Rok Development has won planning permission for a £60m office scheme at Wilmslow Office Park, in Cheshire.
The project will deliver 220,000 sq ft of office space two miles from the M56 near Manchester Airport.
The Manchester office of Rok Development is developing the scheme in a joint venture agreement with the Royal Bank of Scotland, with building work to be carried out by Rok's Manchester-based construction team.
The planning approval from Macclesfield Borough Council triggered an immediate start on the 34-acre site, beginning with the demolition of existing buildings, with the intention of having the first phase ready for occupiers by summer next year.
Wilmslow Office Park will feature one three-storey building and three two-storey buildings around a central decked car park and surrounded by extensive landscaped parkland. The site also includes the historic Stamford Lodge, former home of brewer Henry Boddington, which will be refurbished and brought into use as part of the scheme.
Rok Development Manchester bought the Wilmslow site in December 2006 from Legal & General for more than £10m, its biggest acquisition in the region to date.
Agents for the office park are DTZ and Cushman & Wakefield.
