Roof garden opens at Blackfriars House
A rooftop garden offering a panoramic view of Manchester city centre has been opened on the top of Bruntwood's Blackfriars House.
The garden was designed by the Roger Stevenson architectural practice.
It features lawned breakout spaces, timber decking, Buxus and Holly trees and Italian-designed furniture, as well as using recycled materials including artificial bark chipping made of shredded and reformed car tyres.
It was provides Bruntwood's customers at Blackfriars House with an all year round outdoor space for time away from their desks, informal meetings and networking.
Colin Sinclair, director of property marketing at Bruntwood said: "With the roof garden, we wanted to enhance the customer experience at Blackfriars House.
"The exclusivity of the space gives the building a fantastic amenity. It makes for an even more pleasant work environment for customers and visitors in addition to a fantastic 360-degree panoramic backdrop of the Manchester skyline."
Customers at Blackfriars House include the Manchester International Festival, 3 Door Digital agency, Realtime UK Computer Graphics Studio and Gourley Marketing Partners.

For jealous office staff in other buildings – you need a security fob to access the garden, so make friends with a Blackfriars House employee!
