Revived BoNYM seeks new space

The Bank of New York Mellon has shortlisted four buildings for a 50,000 sq ft office in central Manchester.

The shortlist comprises:

• Langtree Group's 100,000 sq ft 40 Spring Gardens
• Wilson Bowden's 103,000 sq ft Belvedere, Booth Street
• Allied London's 390,000 sq ft 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields
• Argent's 200,000 sq ft Three Piccadilly Place

All the contenders are scheduled for completion during 2008.

The bank famously took 90,000 sq ft at Argent's One Piccadilly Gardens several years ago but released 18,000 sq ft back to Manchester city council in 2006. The merger with Mellon Financial last year has prompted renewed expansion plans.

Savills is retained by BoNY; GVA Grimley and Savills are letting agents on Three Piccadilly Place; WHR and CB Richard Ellis present Langtree on 40 Spring Gardens; Jones Lang LaSalle and WHR are agents on Belvedere; and JLL and DTZ are agents for Allied London's Spinningfields.
