Resi dominates Cheshire East planning agenda
Next week’s Cheshire East Council planning committee is expected to approve three applications for 500 new homes across the borough.
On Wednesday 19 October, the strategic planning committee will consider proposals from housebuilders Bovis, Persimmon, and Anwyl.
At Crewe Road in Haslington, Bovis has applied for detailed planning approval for 245 homes, with open space and playground facilities. Formerly owned by Richborough Estates, the site was granted outline consent at appeal in 2014.
The development will be made up of a mix of flats, bungalows, terraces and detached units.
Meanwhile in Sandbach, Persimmon Homes has put forward an application for 138 homes at Hawthorne Drive. Although the site is in open countryside, the scheme is recommended for approval as Cheshire East Council can’t demonstrate a five-year supply of housing sites, which will be defined within its emerging Local Plan.
In Audlem, Anwyl Construction has outline permission for up to 120 homes on Audlem Road, which was granted planning consent on appeal. The developer is now applying for consent for design elements, to progress its plans for 18 two-bedroom, 33 three-bedroom and 69 four-bedroom houses.
