RCL lands energy data centre

Rolfe Contracting Ltd has won a £2.1m build and fit-out contract to deliver a data centre for Electricity North West.

RCL was selected after a tender process to deliver the complex and sensitive project for Electricity North West at a secret location, to protect the infrastructure of the business and security of customer details.

Electricity North West owns, operates and maintains the North West electricity network connecting 2.4 million properties and more than 5 million people in the region to the national grid.

Antony Grace, regional managing director of RCL, said: "It has taken some time to secure this project, so we are over the moon that we are working with Electricity North West again, they are a great client to work with. We have been able to demonstrate our commitment to delivering projects for them in the past that has given them the confidence to select RCL as the successful contractor on this project. This along with several other contract wins, is a great start to 2014."
