Q Developments launches search for Salford funding partner

JLL has been tasked with finding a backer for the firm’s 538-bedspace Cross Lane PBSA project, a scheme with a GDV of £98m.

To be built on the site of the former McDonald’s regional head office close to Salford Crescent railway station, the development is to top out at 27 storeys, with a 19-storey shoulder block.

Broadway Malyan is the project architect, while DPP took the scheme through planning.

Ideally, the developer is looking to start on site this summer. A selection process is underway to appoint a main contractor, with a shortlist of firms in contention.

The site is ready to go live, with a fully complete stage 4 design.

Managing director Sean Quinn said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing this landmark student accommodation development forward in the heart of Salford.

“This project will deliver high-quality, much-needed housing for students across both Salford and Manchester, supporting the continued growth and vibrancy of the region’s academic and cultural life.”

Hi Anonymous. This is not a University of Salford project. It is being privately developed. Best wishes, Dan

There are so many jobs and opportunities in Manchester and Salford nowadays

@anonymous Where do anyone find the money? Well if there’s a “fortune” to be made someone will be willing to lend the money and get a nice return… Basic capitalism…
