Prospect progresses plans for 145 South Ribble homes
Blackburn with Darwen Council selected the developer as preferred bidder for a 14-acre site over the border last year.
Prospect Homes wants to build up to 145 homes off Branch Road in Mellor Brook, under early-stage plans lodged with South Ribble Council.
Prospect part of Riverside Group, was named the preferred bidder for the 14-acre plot last December, defeating 13 other bidders for the site.
Working with Pegasus Group, Prospect is now planning to deliver a residential scheme with a significant proportion of affordable homes, in line with its bid.
Speaking last year, Blackburn with Darwen Council deputy leader Cllr Quesir Mahmood said Prospect’s bid “was the best in quality and value and, importantly, it meets South Ribble’s vision for the quality, type, and tenure of homes for that site”.
Elsewhere in the North West, Prospect Homes is working on constructing 99 homes in Widnes and 54 homes in Burscough.
The increased traffic in the area will be a massive problem and very importantly, schools , doctors and dentists . There is no possibility these local necessities will cope with such a massive new influx in the area.
Allso again green areas for nature lose habitat.
Nearby brownhills is now saturated with new housing & this will just multiply all these difficulties as mentioned.
