Preston approves 155 homes, bus station, and Fulwood industrial

The local authority’s planning committee approved nearly all the major applications on its docket for last Thursday’s meeting.

Ingol Golf and Squash Club

Rowland Homes can move forward with its plans to build 155 homes on the former golf course off Tom Benson Way.

Set on 26 acres, the project will see the building of 109 market homes with between three and four bedrooms. There would also be 46 affordable homes with a mixture of tenders, including affordable rent.

Asteer Planning is the planning consultant for the project, while Richard Eaves is the landscape architect. Mode Transport Planning and Avian Ecology are also on the project team.

The application’s reference number with Preston City Council is 06/2022/0779.

Preston Bus Depot

The local authority approved Preston Bus Company’s plans to demolish a series of warehouses, replacing the units with a 22,600 sq ft bus depot.

The plans include 128 parking spaces for buses. There would be 79 spaces for cars to park, including 19 that would be set aside for visitors and management.

Paul Gaughan Building Consultants is the planning consultant and designer for the project.

The application was meant to be discussed at a planning committee in November, but was deferred until the 1 December meeting.

Fulwood Park

EP Properties found success with its application to build a 50,000 sq ft storage space at Broughton Business Park off Caxton Road in Fulwood

The project is for TVS Supply Chain Solutions, a company that deals in automotive parts. TVS occupies a building adjacent to the site, which had been the home of the Lancashire Evening Post until the news organisation vacated the premises in 2016.

The new building would be an expansion for TVS and would be constructed on a car park. There would be 97 car parking spaces retained on the site.

Blackburn-based Campbell Driver Partnership Architects designed the project for EP. Urban Future is the planning consultant.
