Plus Dane gears up for CWAC handover
Liverpool-based housing association Plus Dane Group will open its new office in Ellesmere Port next month as it takes over the management of 5,800 Cheshire West & Chester Council homes in Ellesmere Port and Neston.
The office at 7-9 Civic Way will be the new base for around 60 of the council's housing staff transferring to Plus Dane as part of the £100m five-year contract, which will see the housing association take responsibility for providing housing services for the 15,000 Cheshire West & Chester Council tenants in Ellesmere Port and Neston from 1 July.
In total 180 council employees will transfer to Plus Dane, which already owns and manages over 13,000 homes across Merseyside and Cheshire and employs 560 people. The current housing office based at Neston Town Hall will be retained, along with facilities at Joseph Groome Towers and the Rossfield Road depot in Ellesmere Port.
Peter Shaw, Plus Dane's managing director for Ellesmere Port and Neston, said: "When Plus Dane was announced as the successful bidder for the housing management role we knew that having a strong presence in the area was going to be crucial, for both employees transferring to Plus Dane and for customers using and accessing our services and support who we know value local service delivery."
