PLANNING | Halton set to approve 99 homes
Prospect Homes is expecting the green light to deliver the houses on a nine-acre agricultural plot at the council’s development management committee meeting on Monday.
Meanwhile, highway and environmental worries could see Miller Homes’ proposals for 328 Widnes residences delegated.

Prospect Homes’ plans to build 99 houses on the nine-acre Widnes site are recommended to be approved next week.
Eden Rose Consulting designed the scheme, which would see the demolition of the existing outbuildings on site to make way for the homes.
Proposals feature eight two-, 48 three-, and 43 four-bedroom properties to be delivered on the plot, accessed off Derby Road.
Of the 99 homes, 20 would be affordable.

Land north of Lunts Heath Road
Application number: 22/00318/FUL
Miller Homes wants to deliver 328 homes on the 42-acre greenfield plot.
The scheme would feature 12 one-, 39 two-, 165 three-, 101 four-, and 11 five-bedroom properties.
Of the 328 homes, 66 would be affordable.
Proposals would also see the creation of two new access points off Lunts Heath Road.
The Widnes site is allocated for up to 381 homes in the Halton Delivery and Allocations Local Plan, however officers have recommended that this application is delegated to the operational director and chair or vice chair of the committee. This recommendation hopes to solve ongoing issues regarding the project’s impact on highways and the environment.
NJL Consulting is the scheme’s planning consultant. Also on the project team is transport consultant Eddisons, landscape architect TPM Landscape, and arboricultural consultant Trevor Bridge Associates.
