Pembury prevails with Knowsley industrial

The developer has been granted permission to build a 110,000 sq ft unit off Villiers Road & Penrhyn Road at Knowsley Business Park.

Pembury Real Estate acquired the 5.3-acre site in joint venture with Abrdn earlier this year. The company submitted a planning application for the industrial project to Knowsley Council in April.

The scheme comprises a single distribution hub providing 110,297 sq ft of warehouse space and 5,600 sq ft of ancillary office accommodation.

AJA Architects is advising Pembury on the proposals alongside Chroma Planning.

The proposals aim to meet EPC A and BREEAM ‘excellent’ criteria, representing a 36.6% reduction in carbon compared to building regulations Part L2A, according to a planning statement by Chroma.

Pembury was founded in 2020 and is headed up by directors James Wright and Russell Taylor.

As well as its Knowsley project, the company is also developing 140,000 sq ft of industrial space off Kingmoor Road in Carlisle.

Pembury is also redeveloping the eight-acre former Weetabix factory site at Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby into a 161,000 sq ft modern complex.
