Pegasus appoints Ford as planning director

Ian Ford has joined the development consultancy group from Arup, where he worked for 10 years on a variety of high-profile projects that included Peel’s Liverpool Waters, Liverpool City Council’s Festival Gardens, and Oldham Council’s Northern Roots.

As a planning director at Pegasus Group, Ford will continue working on Liverpool Waters, helping deliver on its ambitions to build thousands of homes and a variety of retail and office spaces.

Ford is based out of Pegasus’s Liverpool office. This fits in with Ford’s dedication to the city – he is co-chair of Professional Liverpool’s development and regeneration board as well as the city region’s professional and business sector board.

Regarding his appointment at Pegasus, Ford said: “It’s a really exciting time to join Pegasus and I look forward to working with colleagues to help grow our town planning offer in Liverpool.

“The projects the team are currently involved in include some of the most exciting regen opportunities the city has seen for some time,” he continued.

“Through my recent involvement of similar major-scale sites, I hope I can add to the team’s existing skills and experience to help create amazing places in the city and further afield.”

Ford is the latest of several recent appointments at Pegasus’s Liverpool office. Other recent recruits include Paul Chandler-King, who previously worked at Iceni Project, and Jonathan Burns, who came from Pegasus’s Manchester base.

Pegasus has 425 employees with expertise in planning, design, economics, heritage, sustainability, and more. The firm has offices across the UK, including Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, and London.

Pegasus is currently working alongside Brock Carmichael on crafting a masterplan for a future tall buildings cluster at Liverpool’s King Edward Triangle for TJ Morris and Beetham. Other notable projects include Romal’s West Waterloo Place apartment complex and Mellior Group’s 400-apartment Fabric Village development.
