Peel begins Digital Park offices next to Media City UK

Peel Holdings has started on site at Digital Park, a 35,000 sq ft office development in Salford Quays.

The scheme was forward-funded Northern Way Properties for £7.2m and is made up of six buildings ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 8,000 sq ft.

Digital Park is on Pacific Way next to the link road which will connect the new Media City UK, also in Salford Quays and set to be the new home for five BBC departments from 2011, to the M602. The Digital Park development is due to be completed by August 2008. The building contractor is Construction Partnership UK.

Matthew Fitton, Peel Business Parks manager, said, "The improvement to the transport links as part of the Media City UK scheme will greatly benefit the Digital Park development. We are extremely confident of its success".

The units will be marketed for sale or to let through agents Knight Frank and Canning O'Neill.

Construction started on Media City UK in June. The BBC will occupy 500,000 sq ft of office and production facilities as part of a wider 200-acre mixed-use development.
