Peel/Barratt submit housing proposals
Liverpool City Council has received a joint planning application from Barratt Homes in Manchester and Peel Holdings to build 268 homes on land at Speke Hall Avenue in Speke, south Liverpool.
The application said plans include new access roads from Speke Hall Avenue and Cartswright Farm Road, as well as pedestrian linkages to Sandgate Close, Colworth Road and Speke Hall Avenue.
Within a planning statement, prepared by consultancy GL Hearn acting on behalf of Barratt Homes and Peel, it said the site covers an area of approximately 19.2 acres. The site is located near to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
The plans comprise two and three storey properties, providing two, three and four bedroom family houses.
The statement added: "To the north of the application site, a recently consented garden centre is currently under construction, beyond this lies Speke Boulevard.
"To the east of the site is an existing residential area which includes parades of shops that offer every day goods. At the eastern boundary of the site there is a 2 metre high red bricked wall with interspersed metal fencing of approximately 2 metres in height."
