Peel appoints CBRE for Wirral Waters scheme

Wirral Waters developer Peel Holdings has selected CB Richard Ellis to advise on the £4.5bn, 500-acre regeneration project.

The scheme will see derelict land transformed into 11m sq ft of apartments, 5m sq ft of office accommodation, and more than 500,000 sq ft of retail space. Wirral Waters is part of the wider, £10bn Peel Waters masterplan to redevelop unused dockland on both sides of the Mersey over the next 50 years.

CBRE's regeneration, office, residential, leisure and hospitality directors will advise Peel, as the developer progresses its plans for the project, which are due for submission to Wirral council within the next few weeks.

Chris Hennessy, director of office agency at CBRE, said: "Wirral Waters is one of the largest and most exciting opportunities in the UK.

"It represents a huge opportunity to revitalise large tracks of waterside land with considerable latent value when brought forward as part of a co-ordinated master-plan."

The planning process for the ambitious Liverpool and Wirral Waters schemes is likely to last at least five years.
