Occupiers sign for space at Matchworks

Urban Splash has completed 27,000 sq ft of deals at the Matchworks business park in South Liverpool, letting the Matchbox building to a gym operator, and signing up two property companies.

The developer acquired the Speke Boulevard site in 2000, appointing Shedkm to convert the former Bryant & May factory into a range of office suites.

The 20,000 sq ft Matchbox building, which sits at the front of the site, was formerly let to Fit4Free, and has now been taken over by another gym operator, 24/7 Fitness.

A further 7,775 sq ft has been let at the business park; property developer Green Circle Estates has taken a 6,000 sq ft unit, while builder Samform has moved onto the site. Current tenant SJPP, a wealth management company, has also upsized.

Urban Splash has appointed Shedkm to return to the scheme to review the communal offer on site, with a view to bringing new facilities for tenants in 2018.

Nicky Harries, commercial manager at Urban Splash, said: “The Matchworks estate is business park that provides space for all sizes of businesses; from small start-ups, medium size enterprises, through to very large headquarters. We work closely with our tenants regardless of their business size; nurturing their growth and expansion thanks to a design-led and flexible portfolio, and space such as that found at the Matchworks.

“The arrival of 24/7 is also significant as it brings a great facility for all of or tenants – especially when coupled with our investment into on-site amenities in 2018, all of which will enhance the business park as a whole.”
