Norfox raises £3k for St Mary’s

This year's Norfox Christmas lunch, the popular seasonal fund-raising gathering for Manchester property people, this year raised money for a charity that helps abused children.

Held at the Castlefield Rooms and chaired by Ian Hall of City & Cheshire and Stephen Chalcraft of Pannone, the lunch was attended by 120 people. Dr Cath White of the St Mary's Centre was the recipient of the cheque, which will go towards improvements to the centre which this year has cared for over 1,000 babies and young children who have suffered sexual abuse.

White said: "We are delighted that Norfox felt we were a worthy cause to support and this money will help us enormously to continue our work in Manchester."

Hall said: "Christmas is all about fun and festivities but we must always remember those who may not be able to enjoy it as much as we do. Our lunch was great fun but we are serious about raising money to help great causes like St Mary's.

"The generosity of our guests, plus the hard work of our committee, has now raised almost £3K to add to our funds. This will enable us to help another local charity next year and we are planning a summer event at Albert's Shed in Manchester to add still more to that."

The Norfox 'choir' added musical muscle to the carol singing backed by jazz musician Jeremy Sassoon, ably assisted by Sarah Humber who also delighted guests with her solo recital.
