Next phase of The Depot revealed
Designs from Buttress Architects for the final phase of Rowlinson’s redevelopment of the former Stagecoach site on Princess Road have been revealed, delivering a five-storey later living scheme totalling 40 apartments.
A planning application has been put in to Manchester City Council. The project forms part of the wider Depot scheme, being delivered by Rowlinson Construction on behalf of Manchester Place.
The development gained outline planning consent in 2016 for 200 homes, including apartments, houses and later living. Rowlinson is working alongside Rise Homes and MSV Housing Group.
The first phase was backed by a £5.6m loan for the Greater Manchester Housing Fund, and was made up of 40 apartments and 54 houses. The apartments are completed and let, while the homes are due to complete in the spring.
The later living block would sit on a site currently used for parking and construction staff cabins, alongside another private rented apartment building, due to start on site this year, and a 78-bedroom extra care scheme already under construction.
This final phase has also secured £5m in backing from the latest phase of GM Housing Fund loans.
Stagecoach relocated from the Princess Road depot site in 2011.
