TVP launches contract advisory service

Architects, engineers and surveyors can now access a confidential legal advice service for support with project management, dispute and contract administration issues via a specialist service created by The Vinden Partnership.

The Bolton-based construction advisory firm has launched its Contract Administrator Advisory Service to offer legal advice and support to contract administrators dealing with difficult and complex construction project issues.

TVP provides a confidential service to its CAAS clients aimed at avoiding or reducing contractor claims and subsequent professional negligence claims brought by building owners.

The CAAS team is lead by Phillip Morris, a chartered architect and construction law specialist who has joined from Pozzoni Architects. He said: "CAAS has been launched in response to a growing number of enquiries from independent contract administrators seeking advice on difficult compliance matters and associated legal issues.

"These businesses and individuals can find themselves in a tricky position when a project has got into difficulties and a dispute is on the horizon.

"Understandably, not all contract administrators have the commercial or legal support needed to deal with a project that has gone off the rails and a contract administrator often has no-one to turn to for advice.

"We are providing a confidential service to those that may find themselves out of their area of expertise when difficult issues arise in projects they are managing."

Joining Philip Morris on TVP's CAAS team are established TVP employees Peter Caffrey, a chartered civil and structural engineer, planner and adjudication specialist, Bob Lockhart, a chartered quantity surveyor and barrister, and Chris Milnes, a chartered building surveyor, party wall and health and safety specialist.
