Trio sign up to Carlisle shopping centre

Aviva Life & Pensions UK has secured a trio of new retail lettings at the 450,000 sq ft Lanes Shopping Centre in Carlisle.

Ethel Austin and Au Naturale have completed a new ten year lease on unit 45, the 7,441 sq ft former Zavvi store, for a joint fascia concept.

Jewellery retailer Pandora has also been added to the tenant line-up, by opening in unit 28, which is a 686 sq ft unit situated on Globe Lane.

The Disney Store has been secured in unit 75, a 3,054 sq ft unit situated on Peascod Lane.

Tom Prescott, retail surveyor at DTZ, which acted on behalf of Aviva Life & Pensions UK, said: "Disney is a fantastic new brand to introduce to both The Lanes and the city of Carlisle, promising to be a great footfall driver over the peak Christmas period and providing further evidence of the desire of high profile retailers to secure representation in The Lanes."

This success is set to continue, with five more deals currently with solicitors and set to complete prior to Christmas.

The Lanes Shopping Centre is anchored by a 106,000 sq ft Debenhams store and 56,000 sq ft BHS store. Other retailers include Next, H&M, Miss Selfridge, Monsoon, HMV and New Look bolstered by a mix of good quality local operators.
