Stockport to spend £19m on care home construction

Stockport Council has issued a prior notice regarding care home construction projects worth £19m. The council is to hold a market engagement day on 24 May to inform interested parties about the projects to be undertaken.

The tender process will be run through the STAR shared procurement service. Contractors will be able to bid for both lots.

The work is divided into two lots: the first covering the design and build of two new care homes, at Booth Street and Shepley respectively; and for the extension, remodelling and refurbishment of five existing care homes: Wellcroft in Gatley, Reinbek in Davenport, Meadway Court in Bramhall, Silverdale in Bredbury and Bryn Haven in Brinnington.
