Scanlans takes over Quebec Quay management

Scanlans Property Management LLP has been appointed to provide a full range of management services to the residents of Quebec Quay in Liverpool.

Following a competitive tender process, the residents' management company picked Scanlans, which has an office in Manchester, to provide a full property management service at the waterside development.

There are a total of 184 apartments under management at Quebec Quay, a development of three adjoining blocks with nine entrances, originally delivered by Alfred MacAlpine.

The services that Scanlans will provide to the residents include the provision of block insurance, cleaning and servicing of all communal areas, gardening and management and collection of service charges. There will be regular meetings between Scanlans and the residents' committee to monitor the provision of services.

Scanlans provides property management services throughout the UK and its team now totals 33 property managers, accounts personnel and administrators looking after approximately 300 developments, totalling 15,000 apartments nationally. Scanlans plans to recruit more staff during the year.

Ian Stanistreet, Scanlans Property Management LLP partner, said: "There is a growing demand from both developer and tenant management companies for the security of employing managing agents whose money handling duties are regulated.

"Despite the general climate of increasing financial regulation, many managing agents remain unregulated despite the large sums of money involved in collection of rents and the payment of suppliers' bills."

Scanlans Property Management LLP is a member of both the Association of Residential Management Agents and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
