Redleaf to update Ashton shopping centre

Ashton-under-Lyne's Ladysmith Shopping Centre is to be given a new look with a £4.4m overhaul.

The series of renovations to the Redleaf-owned, 165,000 sq ft shopping centre will result in improved parking facilities and new feature entrances onto Market Square and Katherine Street.

Renovations will include attention to the Mercian Mall and Staveleigh Mall customer walkways.

The work, which will be carried out in phases to limit the disruption to tenants and shoppers, will begin on February 18, 2008 and will be completed by August 2008.

DTZ is the agent for the shopping centre, which is home to high street retailers such as Marks & Spencer, JD Sports, Boots and Topshop.
