Quorum pre-lets trade park site to Travis Perkins
Travis Perkins, the building trade supplier, has signed up for a 14,000 sq ft warehouse on Quorum Commercial's Quantum Trade Park on Oldham Road in Manchester.
The company has taken a 15-year pre-let on the site, paying £140,000 a year. A planning application for the unit has been submitted and the branch is expected to open in September.
Since taking charge of the four-acre site last year, Quorum has refurbished 30,000 sq ft of warehouse accommodation in four buildings from 5,000 sq ft upwards. Planning for a further eight trade counter units totalling 27,000 sq ft has been submitted and accommodation will be available from 2,500 sq ft. Subject to approval, terms have been agreed on three of the units, which are in solicitors hands.
"This is a great step forward for the site," said Paul Wardle, director of Quorum Commercial. "To attract a high profile brand such as Travis Perkins is a coup for any developer, so its move to Quantum Trade Park is testament to the quality of accommodation and location of the site."
Daniel Burn of King Sturge, joint agents on the scheme with Davies Harrison, added: "Quantum Trade Park is in a very prominent roadside location, just two miles from the city centre, giving Travis Perkins a huge amount of exposure to passing traffic along one of the city's main arterial routes."
