Pozzoni hands over £2.5m care scheme

Derby-based charity MHA Care Group has taken possession of a purpose built 33-apartment housing with care scheme to be called Fulwood Park on Aigburth Road, Liverpool.

MHA provides care homes, housing and support services to more than 12,000 older people across the UK.

Pozzoni AigburthThe scheme was designed by Pozzoni Architects, a specialist in designing for older people. The apartments will provide a 'home for life' for those who live there, with community facilities including a foyer area, lounge, coffee shop and hair and beauty salon. Externally, sunny garden areas with walking paths, planting beds and a gazebo are provided, and car parking is close to the entrance.

Pozzoni said: "The design of the scheme welcomes residents with a non-institutional feel and allows people to continue with their daily lives and activities. Residents are able to relate to the size, scale and ambience of the spaces created in a safe and enabling environment, together with the ethos of care that MHA provide which enhances the quality of life for residents. Fulwood Park offers residents the opportunity to join a friendly community, with all the freedom and dignity of their own front door."

The contractor on the 15-month build was Termrim Construction, based in Huddersfield.
