OBI appoints capital markets lead

The agency has appointed Scott Gemmell from Lambert Smith Hampton to head up its capital markets team, following a raft of business wins.

Gemmell spent four years as director and head of capital markets at LSH in Manchester and has joined OBI’s newly-expanded transactions and asset management department.

His appointment brings Manchester-based OBI’s headcount to 35, five of which make up the capital markets team.

Prior to joining LSH, Gemmell worked as a director in JLL’s North West valuation team for 12 years between 2004 and 2016.

During that time, he worked on several high-profile Manchester developments including Allied London’s St. John’s and Spinningfields, as well the Noma estate and Grosvenor’s Liverpool One.

Gemmell praised the “incredible energy” at OBI and said the move had come “at the right time”.

OBI co-founder Will Lewis said: “The sustained period of growth we’ve experienced has meant that building our capital markets expertise has been a natural progression.

“Scott’s knowledge of the market, coupled with his depth and breadth of experience, will be a fantastic asset for our clients.”

Founded in 2010 by Will Lewis and Dominic Horridge, OBI’s landlord and occupier clients include Aviva Investors, Bruntwood, Schroders, Property Alliance Group, Booking.com and The Hut Group.

OBI’s head office is on Mosley Street.
