Muse names Bowyer as managing director

Kate Bowyer will take over the role from Matt Crompton, who is retiring in April.

Bowyer is the current finance director for Muse Developments, which is part of Morgan Sindall Group. She joined Muse in November last year after working for more than four years as the chief financial officer and crown commissioner at The Crown Estate. Prior to that, she had worked with Intu Properties and PwC.

“This is an exciting time to be taking over the reins at Muse,” Bowyer said.

“This is a wonderful business. I look forward to being able to help deliver the kinds of long-term projects that really transform our city centres and improve the lives of communities for the better.”

Morgan Sindall Group chief executive John Morgan expressed his enthusiasm for Bowyer’s new role.

“Kate brings her own blend of strategy, precision and vision to Muse Developments and we look forward to seeing what she will achieve at Muse going forward,” he said.

Morgan also took a moment to praise Crompton, who has worked at Muse for more than 30 years. Of those three decades, more than 15 were spent as managing director.

“He leaves a portfolio of active developments and a strong pipeline of new business,” Morgan said. “We wish him an enjoyable and well-deserved retirement.”

Crompton said: “I joined this fantastic business in 1989 as a Development Surveyor and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with some of the most talented individuals in the industry, creating wonderful place-changing communities with the backing of a market-leading construction and regeneration group.”
