Mulbury on site for Great Places
Construction has started on a £3.2m housing development to bring more affordable homes to Rochdale.
Mulbury Homes is building the 32 properties in Boundary Street for Great Places Housing Group.
The houses will have a mix of two, three and four bedrooms will be made available for subsidised rent.
A derelict industrial warehouse and office block will be demolished to make way for the new homes.
Greg Mulligan, director of Mulbury Homes, said: "This scheme will help to regenerate this neglected brownfield site and remove what was becoming an eyesore for local residents.
"These new homes will go some way towards plugging a shortage of affordable homes in this part of Rochdale where demand is high for this type of property."
The scheme is due to be completed in June 2014.
