Merepark signs three in Liverpool

Developer Merepark has completed three retail and leisure lettings in Bold Street, on the edge of its Central Village development totalling 15,500 sq ft.

Hamilton's, described as a tea and champagne bar, menswear retailer Giancarlo Ricci, and music and film retailer That's Entertainment, have all taken space.

Riad Erraji, founder of Hamilton's, said: "The city is on the up and after meeting Mayor Anderson recently we hope to continue to support new projects and bring more Hamilton's to Liverpool throughout the city."

Marc Goodman, managing director of Giancarlo Ricci, added: "We're delighted to be able to add a designer footwear store to the menswear offering that we have had in Liverpool for 27 years. There's no doubt that retail is tough at the moment but with the right offering, in the right area, there is always scope to grow and progress."

The lettings are part of developer Merepark's Central Village scheme, a £160m development that will extend Liverpool's retail and leisure core with three new hotels, offices, as well as retail outlets, restaurants, bars, cafes, a new public car park and public spaces.

Merepark has now pre-let more than 90,000 sq ft in addition to the three hotels and Q-Park elements of the development Pure Gym, Cosmo and award-winning Indian restaurant chain Zouk Tea Bar & Grill among others.

Neal Hunter, associate director of Merepark, said: "It's fantastic to be able to welcome these three new offers to Bold Street. The Ropewalks has, for a long time now, been a busy and vibrant part of the city centre and it's great to see space being taken by brands which can bring a new dynamic to what's on offer in the area.

"Central Village has already, and is continuing to, attract some big and new offers to this part of Liverpool city centre – we're seeing a good pipeline of names coming forward to express interest."
