MCI kicks off £5m Stockport apartments

The housebuilder and developer, part of Keepmoat Homes, has started work on a 48-apartment scheme for Viaduct Housing Partnership on a site of Stockholm Road in Adswood.

The development sits off Adswood Road, opposite Prior Park and next to railway lines. The homes are being built for Viaduct Housing Partnership, a joint venture between Stockport Homes Group and Stockport Council. The site has been vacant for a number of years.

MCI is delivering 48 apartments, including a mix of one and two-bed apartments for rent and shared ownership. These will be split across two three-storey blocks.

Work started this month; the scheme secured planning approval in October last year.

Ken Lee, chair of Viaduct Housing Partnership, said: “It is pleasing to continue working with MCI Developments on another much-needed scheme to provide great new apartments.

“We are planning to welcome in the first residents to their new homes in due course as we help to deliver the Council’s ambition to meet the affordable housing needs of Stockport.”
