Max Fordham opens office in Manchester

The building services engineer has made Carver's Warehouse, Dale Street, its first North West base, having previously established sites in London, Cambridge and Edinburgh.

Matt Dickinson, a partner relocating from London, will head the new office. He said: "Some of the best architects and clients in the country are located in the North West, and these are the people that we want to be working with."

Dickinson, who worked on the award-winning Brockholes Visitor Centre in Preston, is one of two staff at Carver's Warehouse. The second member of staff is Ian Shaw, a senior engineer returning after a spell at Ramboll, with plans to add a graduate.

Max Fordham is currently working on the refurbishment and conversion of a grade 2-listed church in Salford's Higher Broughton into a conference, performance and community facility, as well as the refurbishment of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

The Manchester team will continue to work on London-based projects while establishing relationships with local architects and clients.
