Liz Peace to join Redrow

The Deeside-based housebuilder has appointed the prominent industry commentator and lobbyist to its board as a non-executive director, starting next week.

Peace is the outgoing chief executive of the British Property Federation, a post she has held for 12 years and from which she will retire in the autumn. Earlier this month she agreed to become non-executive chairman of TTA Property, part of PR firm Good Relations Group.

Peace will chair Redrow's sustainability committee. Peace is also a non-executive director of Morgan Sindall Group and Turley. She is a member of the Peabody Trust and a trustee of the property charity Land Aid.

Steve Morgan, chairman of Redrow, said: "I am delighted to welcome Liz to the board. Her extensive knowledge and understanding of the property industry and of central and local government will bring a valuable set of skills to the group."

Redrow also said on Thursday that following the announcement on 1 July that Alan Jackson, deputy chairman and senior non-executive director, will retire from the board on 1 September, Debbie Hewitt will take over as senior independent director.

Morgan added: "I would like to thank Alan for his advice and support over the last five years which has been invaluable during a time when the group has seen a phenomenal turnaround in its performance. I and my colleagues would like to thank him for his significant contribution and wish him every success in the future."
