Dears Brack rebrands as Hardie Brack

Independent chartered surveyors, Dears Brack, has changed its name to Hardie Brack to mark a new era for the business.

Building surveyor Peter Brack and valuations specialist Mark Hardie have worked together at the Liverpool-based firm for ten years. Former partner Tom Dears retired five years ago.

Dears Brack briefly merged with local agency Venmore in late 2007 but demerged after the agency hit financial difficulties and Venmore was acquired by Wirral-based BFL.

Peter Brack said: "Our practice has developed many new property consultancy specialisms in recent years and we want to reaffirm the important of our client based service."

The practice, based on Harrington Street, employs ten people and has had a Liverpool base for more than 25 years. The firm provides survey, valuation, dispute resolution and project management services for institutional and private clients.

Long-term clients include Downing, Merseyside Fire & Rescue and Merseyside Police Authority. Hardie Brack recently completed a project management consultancy for Downing on the £15m refurbishment of the Port of Liverpool Building at Pier Head.

Current projects include the development of a new monastery in Allerton, South Liverpool, and social housing projects involving more than 200 units.

Mark Hardie added: "The past two years have been a very testing time for property professionals. We have, however, benefited from established relationships with good and trusted clients. We have also seen great opportunities arise for aspiring property developers who have a vision beyond the current downturn."
