Create Construction wins Lancaster Uni work

Blackpool-based Create Construction has won a £5.1m contract from Lancaster University for the refurbishment of its Bowland Main building on the main campus.

In March, the university tendered for the refurbishment of office space, student bedrooms, family flats, lecture theatre, bar and provision of open space.

Bowland College, which was renamed as the Bowland Main building in 2004, was the first of the colleges to be established at Lancaster University.

The university said the building will be refurbished throughout the 2010/2011 academic year and reopen in October 2011.

Create Construction previously refurbished and re-modelled the ground floor of the County South building for Lancaster University.

The contract will not be sub-contracted.
