Canada Goose to open on New Cathedral Street
The fashion retailer is to take over the former UGG unit on the high-end retail boulevard.
The pop-up store is to open in autumn and remain open until spring 2022.
Canada Goose will occupy the the 2,000 sq ft store on New Cathedral Street between the Polo Ralph Lauren and Burberry stores.
An application to replace the old UGG signage has been lodged with Manchester City Council and the store is currently being fitted out.
Canada Goose, which is best known for its winter coats, opened its debut UK outlet in London in 2017. It also has stores in New York, Toronto, Beijing and Hong Kong, among others.
The company has been criticised in the past by animal rights groups over its use of fur. However, Canada Goose has pledged to be fur free by 2022.
New Cathedral Street, like Manchester Arndale, is owned by M&G Real Estate and Intu.
Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the letting agents for the street.
M&G declined to comment on the deal.
Not sure the geese will be enamoured!
