Berrys adds to planning team

Specialist rural property advisor Berrys has appointed planner Stuart Thomas from Shropshire Council to work across its Northwich and Shrewsury offices. Berrys said it plans to hire further staff as it enjoys a period of growth.

Graham Bowcock, partner in Northwich, said strategic development and agency order books were both showing an upturn. Berrys employs nine staff in Northwich and 15 in Shrewsbury.

Thomas, who has also worked at Powys Council, joined earlier this month as planning consultant and is part of Berrys move towards offering a broader set of disciplines. Historically planning advice was offered by its surveyors but it now has six planners working across the two regional offices.

Berrys began as an agricultural sector specialist but increasingly works on residential development and commercial instructions.
