New CGIs released of £70m Salford towers
Elliot Group is targeting a July start on site for The Residence, a £70m development due to be built on a plot within Salford’s Greengate.
The Liverpool-based developer bought the site from Silverlane earlier this year for around £7m, as the location of its first scheme outside of Liverpool.
Planning permission was granted in December for the Jeffrey Bell-designed towers of 14 and 33 storey, which will overlook the River Irwell and Manchester Arena and include 300 apartments.
Clancy has been appointed structural engineer, and Abacus as the M&E consultant. WYG is the project manager, and Falconer Chester Hall the project architect.
The scheme’s main contractor is expected to be announced shortly.
Elliot Lawless, managing director of Elliot Group, said: “We’re building a stable team around our business as we enter a key delivery phase. When the first diggers get going on Greengate we’ll have seven projects on site simultaneously with a development value of £120m. To spin that number of plates we need the very best people around us and I’m delighted to confirm these appointments.”
