MRB up and running in Manchester

MRB Consulting Engineers has officially opened its North West office at 111 Piccadilly, Manchester.

The firm was set up in 2007 in Yorkshire and announced its move into Manchester in May, following a series of contract wins in the region. MRB’s Manchester office will be run by regional associate directors, Dan O’Connell and Matt Rangeley.

MRB has been appointed as MEP and sustainability consultants on the £25m, 137-bedroom Dakota Deluxe Hotel, now on site at Piccadilly Basin and aiming for completion in spring 2019.

Other North West projects include acting as MEP and BREEAM consultant for Harworth Estates on Logistics North, working with food and drink production line manufacturer Krones on its head office refurbishment, also in Bolton, and fit out projects for Everyman Cinemas, which is opening in Liverpool’s Metquarter and Altrincham, and is understood to be in talks at Allied London’s ABC in Manchester. MRB is also working with Bruntwood at Alderley Park.

MRB said that it is looking to recruit numerous engineers across all grades in Manchester,

John McElwee, managing director, said: “MRB has enjoyed fantastic growth since John, Mark and I set up the company in 2007. We’ve grown from a team of three to now employing 16 staff and we continue to grow as we expand into new cities.

“Manchester was the obvious choice for our second location, as it’s home to some of the leading property consultancies and innovative developments in the North.  We are now open for business and look forward to working on some exciting new Manchester-based projects.”

I think more offices should have a uniform. Well done MRB. You truly are trail-blazers.

By Uniform

A gentleman shall leave open the lowest button on his jacket.

By Sting

@Sting On a three button jacket, yes, but with two buttons and high cut from the bottom like Mr O’Connell’s jacket, that would not be necessary.

That said, a gentlemen would surely wear a tie for a publicity shot. His mother may be reading.
