MMU seeks construction partner
Manchester Metropolitan University has published a tender for a £25m construction and refurbishment contract for buildings for its Faculty of Art and Design department.
The 16-month contract consists of the refurbishment of the 93,000 sq ft Chatham tower and the construction of a 78,000 sq ft new build facility on the site of the former Undercroft building on the All Saints campus.
Feilden Clegg Bradley was appointed as project architects last September.
The university's separate £120m plans for a new Birley Fields campus in Hulme, designed by John McAslan & Partners, was one of the projects which has fallen victim to the North West Development Agency's £52m spending cuts. MMU hoped to secure funding towards the Birley Fields campus but it was announced last Monday the agency will not be funding the project.
Deadline for submitting tenders is 12pm on Friday 20 August.
