Midas chooses airport for new HQ
Midas, the inward investment agency for Greater Manchester, is moving its office to Voyager at Manchester Airport after 12 years in Trafford Park.
The organisation is taking 6,000 sq ft on a 10-year lease at the airport building. Michael Oglesby, chairman of Midas, said: "Despite the global downturn, we beat our demanding targets by directly assisting in the creation and retention of more than 5,000 jobs last year, but we never rest on our laurels and are always seeking new ways in which to secure investment and jobs for the city region.
"We've found Trafford Park to be a great location for business, however we very much look forward to moving to our new home and continuing to work even more closely with Manchester Airports Group – undoubtedly one of the jewels in the city region's crown."
John Atkins, managing director of MAG Developments, said: "We are confident that this move will bring huge benefits to Midas, the airport and the region and we are looking forward to welcoming them to the airport early next year."
Voyager was selected following a search of Greater Manchester office locations by property agents Savills, with the deal negotiated by MAG Developments, the property and development arm of the Manchester Airports Group.
10 year lease? I hope there’s a good release clause. Claiming responsibility for the Bank of New York move seven years ago only goes so far….

it’s a bit later for the transfer deadline but i’d happily see a loan deal where we swap the mersey partnership, professional liverpool and liverpool commercial district partnership for midas.
