MediaCity flex space conversion completes
Contractor Consensus has wrapped up a project to convert 55,000 sq ft of conventional office space within the 18-storey Blue into serviced workspace.
Arrive, MediaCity’s flexible workspace brand, will manage the space.
The scheme was designed and project managed by OBI and aims to tap into the high demand for flexible workspace.
The project featured the refurbishment of six floors within Blue, as well as the creation of a social hub on the tenth floor, which features a café and breakout spaces, as well as sleep pods and podcast booth.
“The pandemic has really fuelled the demand for flexible workspace,” said Chris Reay, MediaCity property director.
“Small to medium-sized businesses want the flexibility to scale up and down in response to demand and Arrive offers this solution.”
Richard Lace, transaction and asset management at OBI said: “As businesses adjust to new agile ways of working, flexible and fully fitted workspaces are proving popular.
“The launch of Arrive at Blue is the perfect addition to MediaCity, delivering a collection of services to reposition the workspace.”
Occupiers at Blue include Huawei, PassMeFast and BlueJay.
Attention now turns to another MediaCity building, Tomorrow, where Peel L&P and OBI plan to deliver another Arrive workspace.
The Arrive space at Tomorrow would be the flex operator’s third space, following the completion of a project to convert floors four, five and six of White, a 16-storey office block.
