McGoff cracks on with £11m Grappenhall New Care
The 70-bedroom care home, located on the site of the former Springbrook pub off Knutsford Road, is due to complete in March 2023.
New Care, part of Altrincham-based McGoff Group, is developing the Grappenhall scheme and McGoff Construction is the main contractor.
The foundations of the £11m building, which is funded by Octopus Finance, are in place and the installation of the metal frame is due to begin this month.
As well as 70 en-suite bedrooms, the New Care project features communal lounges and dining rooms, spa-assisted bathrooms, a hair salon, nail bar and landscaped front and rear gardens.
Dawn Collett, commissioning director at New Care, said: “Work in Grappenhall is going really well, the foundations are in and brickwork has commenced meaning that locals will soon start to see the building appear above the hoarding.
“Over the course of the next 12 months, the building will really start to take shape and we look forward to welcoming our first residents in March 2023.”
Garner Town Planning is New Care’s planning consultant and CSquared Architects is advising on design.
The Grappenhall project is the latest facility New Care is developing in the area. The operator also has a second care home under construction in Bolton, which has 64 bedrooms, as well as a flagship multigenerational scheme in Lymm that comprises a care home, retirement apartments and a day nursery.
