Macbryde starts on Holt homes

The housebuilder has commenced a project to build 24 homes in the North Wales market town, and has reported a spike in interest in the scheme due to pent-up demand following the Covid-19 lockdown.

Holt is located on the Welsh border, between Chester and Wrexham.

Known as Castle Green, the development will comprise three- and four-bedroom homes aimed at first-time buyers, young professionals and families. Macbryde Homes won consent for the scheme just before lockdown.

Caryl Russell, sales manager at Macbryde, said: “Holt’s favourable commuter connections were always going to make these homes attractive, but the pent-up demand that has continued to grow while the market has been necessarily supressed due to Covid-19 means we are now expecting a stronger-than-ever level of interest.

The installation of branded safety fencing alone led to more than 50 enquiries and since we erected the ‘Coming Soon’ signage last week, we’ve received expressions of interest from a further 40 prospective purchasers.”

Some of the homes will be available to purchase through Help-to-Buy Wales when sales officially launch this autumn.
