Lovell promotes Shad to new partnerships role

Altrincham-based housing developer Lovell has promoted Tahreen Shad to the newly-created position of regional partnerships director for the North West and North Wales.

Previously business development manager for the region, in her new role Shad will lead on Lovell’s delivery of new homes through partnerships with local authorities and other organisations.

Lovell expects to build 600 homes across the North West and North Wales in 2017, with its regional order book currently standing at £330m.

Shad said: “I’m excited to be taking on this new role, which will see Lovell really forge its own path and shake up the industry. My role is about relationships, about strengthening existing ones with public sector organisations and building new ones across the region.

“It’s about saying we’re very much open for business, we’re flexible and willing to invest time and expertise as well as looking at things strategically. We’re keen to take a more proactive approach to unlocking development opportunities.”

Having previously held business development and regeneration partnership roles with Wates Living Space, McInerney Homes and Keepmoat, Shad joined Lovell in 2014.

Regional managing director Nigel Yates said: “Tahreen has been instrumental in establishing the company’s position as a key player in the North West and North Wales property market and in building our strong relationships with key public and private sector organisations locally.

“There is a pressing demand for high quality homes across the region, but homes must be built in the right place and designed to suit the housing needs of local people.”

Lovell schemes set to start this year in the North West include a £53m development of 220 homes in partnership with the Homes & Communities Agency near Chorley. As part of Compendium Living – a joint venture by Lovell and The Riverside Group – the company has also recently been appointed for a £15.5m scheme to build up to 114 homes at the former Joseph Williams School site in Belle Vale, Liverpool.
