Lovell Partnerships kickstarts 115 Port Sunlight homes

Work has begun at Dock Road in Wirral, where the housebuilder is reviving a long-vacant brownfield site with a £30m development offering a blend of open-market sale and affordable rent homes.

A mix of 115 two-, three-, and four-bedroom energy-efficient homes designed by Ainsley Gommon Architects is due to be built by Lovell Partnerships, part of Morgan Sindall Group.

The target for full completion across the 7.5-acre site is by spring 2028.

Onward Homes is set to assist in the delivery of 38 affordable homes, having already contributed £1.7m toward the project.

Stephen Daintith, land director, Lovell, said: “Our portfolio in Wirral and across the wider Liverpool City Region is unlocking opportunities to create new places where communities can thrive.

“We will be maximising the local value generated during the build phase through employment opportunities and supporting local businesses and organisations.”

Tahreen Shad, partnerships director, Lovell, said: “With more than 30% of the plots being affordable homes, we are delivering a sizeable development to meet Wirral Council’s delivery ambitions, far in excess of the 20% planning policy requirements.

“We are excited to deliver the affordable homes in partnership with Onward Homes and Wirral Council.

“Lovell will deliver 42 affordable homes across the development, including four affordable homes as part of the First Homes scheme, which offers first-time buyers and key workers a 30-50% discount on new-build homes.”

Lovell Partnership is not new to Wirral, with the development of 66 affordable homes at the former Foxfield School site well underway.
