Plans emerge for 115 Port Sunlight homes
Lovell Partnerships has lodged plans with Wirral Council for a housing development off Dock Road North.
The developer wants to build 115 two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes on a 7.5-acre site next to Port Sunlight River Park. 42 of the homes would be available for affordable rent.
While the site is earmarked for industrial development in Wirral Council’s unitary development plan, the authority would support housing on the site, according to a planning statement prepared by Asteer Planning.
A “comprehensive marketing exercise” has gleaned no interest from industrial developers, the statement adds, and Wirral’s emerging local plan recognises employment uses may be incompatible with what is a predominantly residential area.
Ainsley Gommon Architects is leading on the scheme’s design.

Lovell is also active elsewhere in the borough. On the north of the peninsula, Lovell recently submitted plans for a 66-home scheme on the former Foxfield School in Moreton.
