Lovell hires managing director

Paul Challinor has joined the housebuilder from his previous role as regional managing director at Stewart Milne.

Challinor takes over the managing director position from Lee Sale, who left the company in January. In his new position, Challinor will be responsible for a number of key developments across the region.

Based in Lovell’s Altrincham office, Challinor brings more than 20 years of experience to the role. Previous positions include regional finance director of Morris Homes, where he worked for more than seven years.

Lovell is part of Morgan Sindall Group and has two North West offices in Altrincham and Liverpool. The company is active in the region with 1,800 homes in the pipeline.

Challinor said: “Lovell has a strong reputation for quality, reliability, delivery, and customer satisfaction, backed by the scope of Morgan Sindall Group…

“My vision for the region is to be very active on new land, contracting, and partnership opportunities by building on long-term existing relationships while forming new relationships across the North West.”

David Ward, Northern managing director at Lovell, added: “Paul has driven success and created a strong team mentality in his previous roles – something that is vital for this position in such a fast-moving and expanding region.

“We have many significant partnership projects set to come forward, as well as ongoing developments in major cities such as Manchester, so Paul’s passion for delivering high standards and regional growth will be invaluable.”

Last week, Lovell, in partnership with SP+ and Together Housing, lodged plans for 450 homes in the latest phase of their Pendleton regeneration. This masterplan aims to deliver 2,000 properties in the area following the demolition of around 800 former council houses.
