Long-standing business gets go-ahead for Penrith offices
Penrith Farmers & Kidds will relocate from its existing head office at the town’s Auction Mart to occupy the 8,300 sq ft complex off Mile Lane.
Westmorland and Furness Council approved the company’s plans at a planning committee meeting last Wednesday. This decision was made in line with officer recommendations.
Architects Plus has drawn up the plans for the scheme, which will deliver a two-storey office block along with an 800 sq ft storage building for PFK’s use.
The estate and professional services agency has been operating from Penrith for 145 years, with its current premises situated a five-minute walk away from the new offices.
This close proximity is one of the key attributes of the site as it “supports PFK’s long-standing connection to the area”, according to a planning statement.
Staff and visitors will be provided with 40 car parking spaces, including two accessible and six electric vehicle charging bays.
The project team includes Tweddell & Slater, Pettit Singleton Associates, GEO Environmental Engineering, and Envirotech.
